NEW DELHI (AP) – President Joe Biden and the prime ministers of India, Australia and Japan will discuss nearly Thursday at a gathering of the Indo-Pacific alliance generally known as the Quad that comes per week into the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
India’s Exterior Affairs Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi stated the leaders will “alternate views and assessments about vital developments within the Indo-Pacific.”
The US, Australia and Japan supported a decision on the UN Normal Meeting to demand a direct halt to Moscow’s assault on Ukraine and the withdrawal of all Russian troops. India abstained from Wednesday’s vote.
The leaders of the Quad nations – Biden, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida – are additionally grappling with China, which the Quad nations have accused of financial coercion and unsettling army maneuvering.

The Quad Leaders may have a chance to proceed their dialogue after their September summit in Washington hosted by Biden, Bagchi stated.
